Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø welcomed the Class of 2026 to campus on Sunday, Aug. 21. With 817 members, this is the most selective and academically accomplished class in the history of the institution — formed from the largest applicant pool ever seen by the University.

On this season’s premiere episode of 13, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø’s Senior Director of Communications and Parent Initiatives Rebecca A. Downing, talks about the University’s resources for parents to help their students transition to college. 

This summer, Aleksia Taci ’25 joined Professor Meredyth Winter in researching and analyzing archeological textiles from the city of Rayy, Iran, from the 10th–12th century.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Bookstore opening its doors in downtown Hamilton following a lengthy renovation that transformed a dilapidated building into the village’s retail anchor. 

Film and Media studies major Claire Chen ’24, from Changshu, China, describes her research into Asian LGBTQ+ experiences in the film industry.

Visitors to the Village of Hamilton will have a new lodging option starting on Aug. 15, as the newly refurbished Hotel One75 will open its doors at 175 Utica Street. 

More than 110 aspiring and published authors — alumni, parents, students, employees, local residents, and visitors from across the country — were on campus in June for the 27th annual Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Writers Conference. The event was spearheaded by Associate Professor of English Jennifer Brice, with assistance from four undergraduate Creative Fellows.

In the fall of 2017, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Research Associate Dennis Geist noted signs of imminent eruption at the Sierra Negra volcano in the Galápagos Islands. Little did he know at the time that his observations paired with a new volcanic forecasting program would lead to the accurate prediction of the eruption five months in advance.
