  • Writers conference participants pose together in front of the Persson Hall bridge
    More than 110 aspiring and published authors — alumni, parents, students, employees, local residents, and visitors from across the country — were on campus in June for the 27th annual Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Writers Conference. The event was spearheaded by Associate Professor of English Jennifer Brice, with assistance from four undergraduate Creative Fellows.

  • Magma flowing from Sierra Negra post-eruption
    In the fall of 2017, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Research Associate Dennis Geist noted signs of imminent eruption at the Sierra Negra volcano in the Galápagos Islands. Little did he know at the time that his observations paired with a new volcanic forecasting program would lead to the accurate prediction of the eruption five months in advance.
